If you’re a dog owner, leafy Chiswick is a great place to live. With its cozy village vibe, it’s ideal for picturesque dog walks. But let’s be honest, what’s a dog walk without a visit to a pub?

If you’re like me and can’t bear the idea of leaving your dog behind, finding dog friendly pubs in Chiswick should be at the top of your list. I’ve sniffed around the area and found 11 dog friendly pubs where you and your pooch can both enjoy some refreshments. Cheers to furry friends!

The Crown & Anchor

Located on Chiswick High road, the crown & Anchor is ideal if you want to grab a pint and a homely pub meal (you might want to phone ahead to find out what’s available on the day).

Great atmosphere with a very friendly staff always happy to help. It is one of the local’s favourite watering hole. Dogs are welcome in the bar areas and the small front terrace. Guide dogs and assistant dogs are welcome in all areas of the pub.

The Old Pack Horse

A traditional Fuller’s pub with a rich history. With retro décor, walking in the old Pack Horse feels like you’ve stepped back in time (in the right sense of the term).

You can expect a warm welcome and a fantastic selection of Fuller’s beers.

They also have unique guest ones on tap that are rotated often, along with crisp cold Asahi lager to wash some tasty Thai food which is a highlight of the pub.

This pub is the perfect spot to bring your furry friends who will be wagging their tails with joy when they get treats from the staff. From open Mic to pub quizzes or live music events, there is never a dull moment at the old pack Horse which is one of my favourite dog friendly pub in Chiswick

The Roebuck

A quirky and fun-filled dog-friendly spot the roebuck is perfect for anyone who is after something a little bit different. The back garden is a hidden gem that oozes with a great atmosphere in the summer.

As well as a spacious garden, the pub has a very decent garden bar. They even have treats on the bar for dogs! The menu is impressive and the food is very decent, more specifically, the Sunday roast.

The tables are well spaced out which makes it comfortable and safe for both you and your four-legged friend. On top of that the staff is lovely and even goes the extra mile to ensure you and your four-legged patron have an awesome experience.

This dog friendly pub in Chiswick has outdoor seating where you can sit back and enjoy a glass of wine or pint of beer while your furry friend can relax.

If you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of Chiswick high street I think the  Pilot  in is the perfect place to escape to.

The Copper Cow

Opened in March 2009 in former shop premises, The Copper Cow is the perfect local hidden hideaway and an amazing little place that’s off the beaten track of Chiswick High Road.

This independent pub (which is a rarity these days) has a warm and fun vibe, making it perfect for catching up with friends or winding down after a long day at work.

Despite its small size, this pub offers lots of drink choices, all at reasonable prices compared to other pubs on the high road.

The staff at The Copper Cow always make you feel welcome as soon as you walk in the door.

Overall, this is a great local pub for first-time visitors and regulars alike, and let’s not forget, it’s dog-friendly.

The City Barge

A 14th-century institution in Chiswick, the City Barge is a very versatile destination. Whether you fancy a romantic dinner for 2 or a casual pint with some friends, the City barge has it all. But it’s also a dog-friendly Haven.

Located in Strand on the Green, the city barge is a large pub that boasts a restaurant,  a bar, and an outdoor seating area,  all of which are dog friendly.

It even has a function room you can hire for special occasions.  If you fancy a dog walk along the river and are in need of a pit stop for some needed refreshment or to watch the world go by while seating outside, this is the perfect place.

If you fancy a dog walk alongside the river in the Chiswick area and want to make a pit stop along the way to watch the world go by, the City Barge is the perfect place.

There is a wide variety of local ales available as well as some yummy gastropub-style food. I thoroughly recommend their Sunday roast.

Word of warning, watch out for the river bank as it very often floods the outside seating area.

Bulls Head

A child and dog-friendly pub, once upon a time an 18th-century tavern used by riverboat captains to arrange cargoes, The Bull’s Head is located on the River Thames.

It is ideal for a Sunday lunch with your family or friends and the perfect pit stop for you and your dog when you are on a long walk along the Thames Path.

There is outdoor seating and even a car park that can accommodate up to 6 cars. The Bull’s Head is a very sweet spot from which you can enjoy picturesque views on a sunny day…if you can get a table.

The selection of beer is relatively small in comparison to other nearby pubs, but the friendly staff compensate for it. Overall, it is a very solid choice to spend some quality time with your furry friend.

The Steam Packet

With stunning views of the River Thames and right next to  Kew Bridge, The Steam Packet is the perfect stopover if you want to take a break in the middle of your dog walk and enjoy a pint after a stroll.

If you can, grab a table on the first-floor balcony so you can enjoy the river view while sipping a pint of your favorite lagger.  If you’re with some friends and feeling a little peckish you can order some tasty sharing plates or alternatively, you can sit in the restaurant for a full meal and order some delicious traditional pub grub.

The steam packer is one of my favorite spots along the river in Chiswick in the middle of the summer and my dog seems to agree too.

Since The Steam Packet is so close to Brentford FC, I recommend avoiding match days as it can get a bit hectic

The Bell & Crown

One of the most dog friendly pub in Chiswick, this spacious 18h century abode is located right by the river. It boasts a conservatory and a terrace from which you can enjoy beautiful views in the summer sun.

There is also a fire place for those chilly winter evenings.

The staff is terrific and provides great service. It’s also a favourite amongst local dog owners in Chiswick.

Top tip. Ask for a dog treat for you 4 legged companion. They keep some behind the bar.

The food is very good too. I particularly recommend their burger.

The Swan

If you’re a food aficionado and have never been to the Swan, you are really missing out.

Established in 1871, it has become one of the best gastro pubs in Chiswick. The cuisine is worthy of any Michelin-starred restaurant you can find in Chiswick, but at a fraction of the price and pretence.

In a typical local pub atmosphere, you can make the most of the warm and welcoming fireplace in the winter and catch some rays in the massive beer garden in the summer while enjoying your favourite drink.

The pub is split into two distinct sections, with one area dedicated to drinking and the other for dining. But wherever you decide to spend your time at The Swan, you’ll always be able to bring your dog with you.
